A free plan that is a real product
Web cabinet, official Windows and Android apps, no ads on the download page, unlimited download speed and a no-logs VPN. Paid plans only add space, file size and retention.
upload.am is cloud storage and backup: you keep your files in a cabinet, the official apps back up your computer and phone, and sharing a file is one of the built-in features. A free account is already a working product: a web cabinet, official Windows and Android apps, password-protected links, download limits, burn-after-download, group links, Upload Inbox, a no-ads download page, unlimited download speed, a no-logs VPN, and a public API. Paid plans raise storage and maximum file size; Family shares one plan between several people, and Business and Enterprise add team tools such as roles, projects, e-signatures, data rooms, backups and SSO.
126 features · No ads on the download page
Included on every free account
Four things you get here that most file services keep behind a paywall or do not offer at all.
Web cabinet, official Windows and Android apps, no ads on the download page, unlimited download speed and a no-logs VPN. Paid plans only add space, file size and retention.
Password, exact expiry date, download limit, delete after first use, view-only with watermark. Your logo and colours on the download page.
Encryption in your browser with a password we never see, two-factor sign-in, login alerts and remote wipe of a lost device.
Shared storage, roles and groups, an audit log, a shared team password and private spaces for up to five family members.
A free upload.am account is a cabinet, two official apps, a no-ads download page, password links, download limits, burn-after-download, group links, Inbox and a VPN. That combination is the product. Other file hosts exist. They are useful for a single job. They are not this stack. The table below is an example against two well-known hosts — 1fichier and MediaFire — so the difference is visible, not so they can be called equivalents.

These are controls in your account today, not promises. Encryption passwords stay with you; we cannot recover them and never see them.
Lock a file with your own password before it leaves your device (AES-256-GCM). We store only unreadable data and cannot recover the password. File names stay visible, and previews and unpacking do not work for encrypted files. Open them with the free decryption tool.
Learn more →A code by email at sign-in, plus eight one-time recovery codes shown once when you turn it on.
An email when your account is opened from a new device or country, in the browser or in an app. Optionally require an email code for every new device.
If you lose a laptop or phone with our app, mark it as lost in Account → Devices. From that moment it can no longer open your files. An up-to-date app also erases its local copies and keys the next time it connects. Other devices keep working.
Download a copy of your data or delete your account and all files yourself, any time. Read our GDPR page and the Data Processing Agreement for business customers.
Learn more →Who uploaded, downloaded, renamed, moved, deleted, shared or changed permissions, when and from which address. Filter and export to CSV. For the owner and admins.
A file named like a picture or document but whose first bytes show a Windows, Linux or macOS program, a script or PHP code is refused, the same as a .exe. The check runs on uploads, remote downloads and every file inside an unpacked archive, and also catches tricks such as a trailing dot or space in the name. It is not an antivirus: it does not look for malware inside documents.
An OpenVPN profile comes with every account, including Free. We keep no record of the sites you visit. It is built for everyday web browsing; torrents and mail servers are blocked.
Learn more →This is not an antivirus: we do not scan the contents of your documents for malware. Programs and scripts hidden under another file name are refused.
One pool of storage and seats, roles and groups, an audit trail of who did what, policies for links and retention, and a shared encryption password for the whole team. One person can work in several teams.
Explore TeamSend documents for signature, run data rooms for investors and auditors, keep clients, projects and a knowledge base next to the files, back everything up, lock what must not change, and sign in through your company identity provider.
Send documents for signature: several signers, order, reminders and a signed PDF with an event log.

Add up to five people to a paid plan: private files for each, shared storage and limits, child profiles with a parental view and a shared album for photos and video.
See plansOne login. One storage pool. One set of links. You do not keep a “website account” and a separate “app account”. The free plan already includes every official client. Paid plans do not sell access to Windows or Android — they sell more space, a larger file size, longer retention, and a download that starts immediately.
Upload, folders, password links, group links, Inbox, versions, trash, remote download, API keys and billing — in 12 languages.
The browser cabinet is the full product: drag-and-drop upload, remote download from a URL, folders, search, bulk actions, versions, trash, share links, Inbox, API keys and billing. The interface runs in 12 languages.
Official desktop app on Free: cloud explorer, backup of folders you choose, live sync, Inbox, links, versions and optional local encryption.
The Windows app is built for people who keep working folders on a PC. Add the folders you care about — not the whole disk. Changed files go up in the background. You can browse the cloud, build a public link, accept Inbox files, restore a version, and optionally encrypt a file on the machine before it leaves the computer.
See the Windows app in detail →Official mobile app on Free: backup photos, video, audio, contacts and a folder. Cloud explorer, camera, document scanner, share from other apps.
The Android app is built for the camera roll and the files that never sit on a desktop. It backs up photos, video, audio, contacts and a folder you pick. You can open the cloud explorer, create a share link, accept Inbox files, shoot a photo or scan a document straight into the account, or share a file from another app into upload.am.
Unpack archives in the cloud, find duplicate files, roll the whole account back to a date before a mistake or ransomware, and keep every previous version of a file.
Use upload.am when you need more than a one-off transfer page. Store files in folders, preview them in the browser, restore a previous version, drop a file into trash and bring it back. Share one file, a whole folder, or several files under one link. Protect that link with a password, cap the number of downloads, set an expiry date, or delete the link after it is used. Receive files from people who have no account through Upload Inbox. Embed an upload widget on your own site. The same account works in the browser, in Upload.am for Windows, and in Upload.am for Android. There are no third-party ads on the download page — on Free and on paid plans.
Not a teaser: this is the complete list of what the platform does today. Use the search or pick a platform to filter. Every line is something you can use right now.
From a quick drag-and-drop to a huge video over a shaky connection.
Drag files onto the page or pick them from your disk, several at once. A quick upload needs no account.
Files over 8 MB go up in parts and are retried on failure, so a dropped connection never restarts the whole upload. Downloads resume the same way.
Paste a URL and upload.am pulls the file straight into your account, with no download to your own computer first.
Guests can upload up to 25 GB a day and get a link at once.
Every upload is verified with a SHA-256 checksum, duplicates in the same folder are not stored twice, and executable and script file types are blocked before the upload starts.
Uploading a file with an existing name into the same folder keeps the old copy as a version instead of overwriting it.
On Android, shoot a photo or a video, or scan a paper document, and it goes straight to your cloud.
Use the Android Share menu in any app to send one or many files into your cloud.
Collect files from people who have no account, and give clients a place of their own.
A personal link where anyone can send you a file without signing up. Set a password, allowed file types, a maximum size and number of files, ask for the sender's name or email, and accept or decline each file.
Embed a file-receiving form on any site and limit it to your own domains.
A temporary two-way room with a deadline: you and your guest upload and download in one place, and when time is up the room and every file inside are deleted for real. Free on every plan.
A permanent page for each client at its own address, with two-way file exchange, a welcome message and a password. From the Plus plan; your logo and colours from Premium.
Ask a visitor to read a document and confirm. Name, email, IP address and time are recorded as evidence of the click. It is a click-to-sign record, not a cryptographic PDF signature. From the Plus plan.
A live activity feed in every room: who uploaded, viewed, downloaded, signed or left a message, with totals for each person.
Replies from support, news from us and messages from other upload.am users arrive in your Inbox with a red counter. Unread replies and news also show as a pop-up until you mark them read. You can write to any user by email.
Send a file to a registered user by their email: they get a notice and accept or decline it in their cabinet, and nothing lands in their account until they accept. Choose move or copy, and the request expires in 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days.
A real file manager, not a pile of links.
Create, rename, move and delete; select many files at once; search and filter by type, size and date.
Images, video, audio (with a pinned player), PDF, Word, Excel, presentations, rtf, txt and csv open without downloading.
Thumbnails, grid and list views and sorting for the photos and videos you keep.
Restore an old copy, or download it without putting it back as the current file.
Restore deleted files. A recently deleted file cannot be erased forever for a few days, which protects you if someone gets into your account.
Downloads, incoming files and room events in one place.
A chart of your storage by file type.
Free: files stay while you use your account; an account with no sign-in for 180 days is deleted after emails 30, 15 and 7 days before. Keep: 1 year after the last upload or download. Plus, Premium, Premium GOLD and Team: as long as the plan is active. Lifetime plans: as long as the account exists.
Open a folder to another upload.am user to view and download, or to add files as well. Added files stay in your account and use your storage; only you can delete or rename.
One shared folder for photos and videos that everyone on your plan can add to.
Unpack ZIP, TAR and TAR.GZ archives (up to 2 GB), and also RAR and 7z (not password-protected) into a folder in your storage, with checks of file paths, file types and your free space.
Finds identical files by content and empty folders, shows how much space you can free and moves your selection to the trash. One copy always stays.
Bring your files back to how they were at a chosen moment: restore files deleted later, return changed files to their earlier content from versions, and optionally trash newer files. Made for ransomware and mistakes. Deleted files can be restored while they are still in the trash.
Protection that is on by default and tools you switch on yourself.
One-click sign-in and sign-up with your Google account. A new account starts on the free plan; an existing account with the same email is linked to it. Two-step verification and new-device confirmation still apply.
A code by email at sign-in, plus eight one-time recovery codes shown once when you turn it on.
An OpenVPN profile comes with every account, including Free. We keep no record of the sites you visit. It is built for everyday web browsing; torrents and mail servers are blocked.
Encrypt files on your own computer with AES-256 before they are uploaded; the key never reaches our servers. Available on paid plans.
The Windows app keeps its token in Windows Credential Manager and the Android app in encrypted storage; signing out revokes it.
About 55 executable and script types are rejected on upload, on rename, on remote upload and through the API.
An email when your account is opened from a new device or country, in the browser or in an app. Optionally require an email code for every new device.
See where you are signed in and sign out any browser or app remotely.
Lock a file with your own password before it leaves your device (AES-256-GCM). We store only unreadable data and cannot recover the password. File names stay visible, and previews and unpacking do not work for encrypted files. Open them with the free decryption tool.
Choose how long deleted files stay in the trash and how long old versions are kept, from 7 days up to 10 years, for your account or for a whole team.
A locked file cannot be deleted, renamed or overwritten until the date you choose, and a lock can only be extended. Lock single files or whole folders, or set an automatic lock for every new team file.
Team admins can place a hold on the whole team, a folder, a file or one member’s files. While a hold is active the files cannot be erased permanently, do not expire and are not cleaned up; they can still be moved to the trash and restored.
We take a daily snapshot of your files and keep the data of permanently deleted files for the backup depth of your plan. Ask for your account or a folder to be restored to a chosen day, only the missing files or the full state. Depth is set in the admin and may differ by account type.
Every few minutes we look for mass overwrites, mass deletions and files with ransomware extensions. If something looks wrong you get an email and can undo all changes since the incident in one step: deleted files come back and overwritten files return to earlier versions.
Team files in text format and Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents are scanned for card numbers, IBANs, SSNs, private keys and access keys. Label any file Internal, Confidential or Restricted, and switch on a team policy that closes public links for confidential files so only team members can open them. PDFs, scans and files encrypted in the browser are not scanned.
Give each person only the access they need. An Editor can change everything in the team space, a Contributor can add files and change only the files they uploaded, a Viewer can only look and download. Roles apply on top of folder permissions.
Invite a contractor or a client as an external guest: they see only the folders you share with them, cannot create public links, and do not use a team seat. Admins can turn guests off for the team.
Admins can switch off public links, require a password, cap link lifetime, require recipients to sign in, forbid direct file links, restrict links to recipient emails on chosen domains and block links for confidential files. The rules apply to every member.
Ask a client for the documents you need, a filled-in questionnaire or an approval right inside a room or portal. The client ticks items off, you see who did what and when, and an automatic email reminder goes out every few days until it is done.
Create a ready folder structure for a legal case, client project or accounting client in one click, with access rights for the people you choose. Start a room or client portal from a template (document intake, project handover, NDA) or save your own.
Visitors must accept your NDA by name before they see anything. You set rights per document (open, view only, hidden), answer questions in a public or private Q&A, give investors a numbered document index and download a report of who opened which document, how many times and for how long.
Open an image or video from the team files, click the exact spot that needs a change and leave a comment there. For video the comment also gets the time of the frame, and clicking it later jumps to that moment. Comments can be marked resolved, and the file is approved or sent back for changes.
Your client sees a gallery, taps the heart on the photos they like (with an optional limit) and sends the selection. You get an email and can download the list of file names: one per line, comma-separated for Lightroom’s filename filter, or without extensions for Capture One. A CSV with notes is available too.
A file whose storage period ran out is not erased at once. For two weeks (set by the site) it waits in the Trash page under “Expired files”, and you can restore it with one click so its link works again.
Plan work next to the files: projects with a client and a deadline, tasks with an assignee and a due date, files attached to a task, and a daily email reminder for tasks that are due or late. For yourself or for the whole team.
Keep a card for every client with contracts, invoices and acts, each linked to its file. Track invoice status (draft, sent, paid), see overdue invoices and the total of unpaid ones. It is a light record keeper, not an accounting system, and it does not issue invoices.
Write rules, how-tos and onboarding guides for your team in simple Markdown, group them by category and search them. Team members read them, editors write them, and any article can be opened by anyone through a secret link if you choose.
Set “when a file is uploaded, approved or sent back for changes, then…” rules: move it to a folder, set a confidentiality label, lock it for some days, email someone or create a task in a project. Conditions by folder, extension or part of the name; every rule shows how many times it ran.
Turn on a team policy, or mark a single document in a data room, and every image, PDF and video that someone downloads through a link gets the downloader’s name, email and date printed diagonally into the file itself. It cannot be removed by closing a browser overlay. Other file types are downloaded unchanged; PDF stamping needs the qpdf tool on the server.
Send a PDF to up to ten people. Signers get a link, read the document and sign by typing their name or drawing, in the order you set or all at once, and they do not need an account. The finished PDF carries the signatures on its page plus a certificate of completion with hashes, times, IP addresses and the full event log. Reminders go out automatically. It is a simple electronic signature, not a qualified one.
New photos of documents, scans and PDFs are read in the background (English and Russian by default), and the text becomes searchable: type a word from a contract into the search box and the file comes up. Files also get tags from their camera data and from frequent words in the text. Recognition needs the tesseract tool on the server; content tags of ordinary photos need an external classifier that the site admin connects.
Open a document, spreadsheet or presentation (docx, xlsx, pptx, odt, ods, odp, csv, txt) from your files and edit it in the browser, together with colleagues at the same time. Every save becomes a new file version, so earlier states are never lost. The editor is Collabora Online running on its own server that the site admin connects.
When a big file changes a little, a sync client can send only the changed 8 to 64 MB blocks. The server compares block fingerprints and copies the unchanged blocks inside the storage itself, so they never travel over your connection. It suits databases, disk images, mailboxes and logs that change in place or grow at the end. This is a developer API, and the new content becomes a file version.
Companies can pay a Team or other paid plan by bank transfer: enter the company details and get an invoice and a service agreement with an availability and support SLA as PDFs. When the transfer arrives, we confirm it and the plan starts. Invoices are available from a minimum amount.
Anyone who is not in a team yet can start a 14-day trial of a business team in one click, with no card. Invite colleagues, try roles, sharing policies and data rooms. We email you three days before it ends; your files stay when the trial ends and you can pay by card, crypto or invoice. One trial per person.
Want to see how upload.am fits your team? Leave a request on the demo page with your company size and a convenient time, and we will show you teams, data rooms, e-signature and security settings in a short call.
When someone leaves the team, their team files stay and pass to the team owner, with the original author kept in the record. You can also hand a person’s files to any other member with one button before they go. Every transfer is written to the audit log.
Connect your own identity provider through OpenID Connect (Okta, Microsoft Entra, Google Workspace, Keycloak). You prove you own the company domain with a DNS TXT record, and then people with company addresses sign in with their work account and join the team automatically. SAML is not supported.
One account and one storage on every device.
Browse, upload and download files and folders, with quick filters and recent files. Free for every account.
Back up the folders you choose, keep them in sync in real time or on a schedule, and sync only the subfolders you want. Changed files go up in the background.
Set an upload and download speed limit, run several transfers in parallel, review versions and trash, and receive Inbox files.
Back up photos, video, audio, contacts and a folder you pick, on a schedule or the moment a new photo appears. Wi-Fi only and charging-only options.
Browse folders, search, restore from trash, review versions, create share links with a password and expiry, and accept Inbox files.
Everything the website does is also in the API, so scripts, integrations and the Windows and Android apps can use it: files, folders and links, rooms and data rooms, e-signature, projects, clients and knowledge base, sending files to other users, bulk actions, rollback to a date, team policies and audit log, devices and plan limits. Bearer tokens, presigned uploads. Full reference at /docs/api, also as plain Markdown for scripts and AI assistants.
Shared storage for an office or an agency. Your clients never take a seat.
One pool of 1, 5 or 20 TB and 5, 15 or 50 seats, with shared folders for the whole team.
Owner, admin and member roles, and per-folder rights: view, upload or manage.
A shared receive link for the whole organisation, managed by owners and admins.
Invite teammates by email and get a warning before the shared pool fills up.
Who uploaded, downloaded, renamed, moved, deleted, shared or changed permissions, when and from which address. Filter and export to CSV. For the owner and admins.
Invite only from your company domains, forbid public links or require a password and a maximum lifetime on them, and optionally send files to the trash after a set number of days.
Uploads, uploaded size, downloads, links and deletions for each team member over 7 to 365 days, plus downloads by outside recipients.
Lock a file for 24 hours while you edit it so nobody overwrites it, discuss it in comments, and request a review, approve or ask for changes. Participants are notified in their Inbox.
Set a shared encryption password for your Team: members encrypt in the browser with the same password, and the browser tells them right away if they typed it wrong. We keep only a check value, never the password. Changing it does not re-encrypt old files.
Put members into groups, such as Design or Accounting, and give a group access to a folder instead of setting it person by person. If someone has access both personally and through a group, the stronger one applies.
One account can belong to several teams, for example your own and your clients’, and switch between them in the Team page. In the API choose the team with the X-Upload-Team header.

The comparison table shows exactly which feature each plan includes. A feature outside your plan is closed in the cabinet with a message that names the plan where it is available.
The My plan page in the cabinet shows your plan, how much of each limit you have used (storage, rooms, portals, Family people, team seats) and every feature with a tick or a cross and the plan where a closed feature is available.
API keys, active public links, folders shared with other people and the history window of trash and versions grow with each plan and are unlimited on Business and Enterprise. Nothing you already have is deleted when you reach a limit: you just cannot add more until you upgrade.
Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover on a secure hosted checkout. Monthly plans renew automatically until you cancel.
USDT, USDC, BTC or ZEC. A one-time payment with no automatic renewal.
Pay for a year at once and get two months free. Lifetime plans are a single payment with no renewals.

Add people to a plan by email: up to 3 on Plus, 5 on Premium, 8 on GOLD, and 5 or 9 on the Family plans. Everyone keeps their own login and private files, and you share the plan's storage and limits.
Mark a family member as a child: no public links, no remote download, messages and files only inside the family. You can see the names, sizes and dates of their files.
Messages from paid plans are marked as priority and answered first. Replies arrive in your Inbox.
Need a little more? Add space in blocks of 100 GB, more Team space, or extra Team seats for a year without changing your plan. Add-ons stack, and nothing is deleted when one ends: you just cannot upload more until you are under the limit.
Pay once with crypto for five or ten years of a plan at a discount and forget about renewals. The time is added to what you already have.
The whole interface in English, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Arabic, Vietnamese, Persian, Indonesian, Filipino and Hindi, with right-to-left support.
A plain-text description of the service at /llms.txt and the API reference as Markdown, so assistants and scripts get accurate answers.

Pages for the most common things people do with a file.
25 GB of storage, 5 GB per file, a web cabinet, the official Windows app, the official Android app, a no-logs VPN, password links, download limits, burn-after-download, group links, Upload Inbox, a public API key, and a download page with no ads. Download speed is unlimited. There is a 10-second wait before the file starts. Retention is 30 days from the last download.
No. Not on Free, not on paid plans. The person who opens your link does not sit through third-party banners to reach the file. That is one of the reasons a free plan here is not the same product as a free plan on a typical file host.
No. Both official apps are included with a free account. A paid plan changes storage, file size, retention and the wait on the download page. It does not unlock the apps.
Yes. Password-protect this file from the cabinet or from the share dialog. The recipient has to enter the password on the download page. The same control exists on a folder link and on a group link.
Yes. Set a download cap on the link. When that number is reached, the link stops serving the file. Combine it with an expiry date if you want both a count and a deadline.
Yes. Delete the download link after it is used — burn-after-download. The file is shared once, then the public link is gone. Useful for a contract, a dump of photos, or anything you do not want sitting on a public URL.
Yes. One link for all these files — a group link. The recipient opens one page and downloads the set, including as a ZIP when the size allows. You can also share a folder with a single link that stays current as you add files.
Paste a file URL in the cabinet. upload.am fetches that file into your account. You do not pull it down to your computer and push it back up. Useful when the file already lives on another host or a direct URL.
A personal link where anyone can send you a file without creating an account. You set a password, allowed types and a maximum size. Incoming files wait for you to accept or decline. There is also an embeddable widget for your own site, and a company Inbox on Team plans.
A temporary two-way room with a deadline: you and your guest upload and download in one place, and when time is up the room and every file inside are deleted for real. Drop Rooms are free on every plan.
A permanent page for each client at its own address, with two-way file exchange, a welcome message, a password and click-to-sign. Portals start with the Plus plan; your logo and colours come with Premium and above.
By card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), billed monthly, or with crypto (USDT, USDC, BTC, ZEC) as a one-time payment. Yearly plans save two months.
Yes. Every account, including Free, includes a no-logs OpenVPN connection. It is not a trial and not a separate subscription. Use it when you upload or download from a network you do not trust.
No. Speed is unlimited on every plan. Free and guests wait 10 seconds on the download page. Paid plans start immediately. There is no traffic throttle used as a paywall.
Upload the same name into the same folder and the old copy becomes a version. Restore it, or download that old copy without putting it back as the current file.
Limits and extras. More storage, a larger maximum file, files kept for as long as the plan is active, no wait before download, Client Portals and click-to-sign. The cabinet, apps, VPN, no-ads page, link controls and Drop Rooms are available on every plan.
A free account: 25 GB, official apps, a no-logs VPN and a download page without ads. No card needed.
